Division Directors


 

ANDREW MCROBBIE

ROLE - Director of Coaching/7v7 Girls Director

From: Aberdeen, Scotland

Qualifications: US ‘D’ License, SFA 1.3, UEFA Certified (Currently study for both US & UEFA C licenses)

Teams: 2015-18 Girls


Originally from Aberdeen, Scotland Andrew moved over in 2010 to coach seasonally in the Bay Area.

Having worked in the youth academy in Aberdeen, Andrew has a passion for building and developing AllStars United SC in his role as Director of Coaching, while also leading our youngest girls teams on the fields as head coach of the 2015 to 2017 girls teams!

Over his time working in the club he has led our 2007 Girls program to an NPL State Championship, coached at local High School level and developed several players from recreational level to play in the ECNL and Girls Academy programs while coaching them over several years.

Named Director of Coaching in February 2020, Andrew led the club through COVID and has since seen the numbers and levels of teams continue to grow. Focused on a long term development approach, his primary goal is to ensure that every player in the club continues their soccer journey year on year and that they are a better version of themselves on and off the field at the end of each season.

Currently studying for his US C licenses while also working along the UEFA pathway, Andrew is determined to continue to improve as a coach as well as a Director and puts his whole heart into the club each day!


Conor McGoldrick

Role - 11v11 Boys Director/Club Administrator

From: Wollongong Australia

Qualifications: USSF D license, SFA 1.1

Teams: 2010 & 2011 Boys


Conor is an ex-Division 2 goalkeeper with Oakland City University, Indiana. Originally from Sydney, Australia Conor moved to the US for School and has since remained here to work for the club for the past 3 years as Goalkeeping director and the head coach of some of our boys teams.

Conor is fantastic at passing along his experiences as a goalkeeper to our young players using his knowledge to help them understand where they can develop during weekly Goalkeeping small group sessions.

He also works alongside them within their Academy training sessions during game-based activities to provide realtime feedback and analysis.

Conor is currently working towards his UEFA C license and along the US Coaching pathway


 

kapanga mchombo

Role:Allstars United Boys 7v7 Curriculum Director, Club Physiotherapist

From: Berkeley, California

Certifications: USSF 'C' License, SFA 1.1, Certificate of Sports Medicine, Certificate of Personal Training, CPR/AED First Aid

Teams: 2014 Boys & 2015 Boys


I am Coach Kapanga Mchombo, but you are more than welcomed and encouraged to call me Coach KP.

I am completing my Seventh year of Senior coaching here at Allstars United and am currently studying Kinesiology; Athletic Training and have over 10 years of competitive playing experience at Mavericks Soccer Club (Eastshore Alliance), San Jose State University, and De Anza College.

Coaching has always been a lifetime goal since an early influence from my father. I strive to share my expertise and philosophies learned in hopes that it will fuel our kids to success not only on the field, but off the field as well.

Although I am still in the recovery stages from Stage IV cancer (Hodgkins Lymphoma), I aim to hold my players to the highest standards thru their development. I come with a Holistic approach to coaching and love for my players to feel safe and supported as they divulge with the sport. In my tenure, I have developed an entire generation of soccer players both Boys and Girls, so it brings me much excitement to have the opportunity to develop our next generation with the knowledge from all of those experiences.


 

Joshua Richards

Role - 9v9 Boys Director

From - Reading, UK

Qualifications - FA Level 2, FA Level 1 GK

Teams - 2012 & 2013 Boys


Josh is currently studying his BSc Football Coaching, Development and Administration with the University of South Wales. Having joined last August he has worked mainly within our 10U,12U and 14U Grassroots program and helping our pathway through to the competitive side of Allstars United.

As well Josh oversees other areas of the Allstars United organisation by running our social media platforms and leading our shooting clinics.

Josh is currently undertaking the UEFA C License with the aim to starting his UEFA B License next calendar year.


 

NAthan Beddall

Role - 9v9 Girls Director

From: Bedford, England

Qualifications: USSF D license, UEFA B

Teams: 2013 & 2014 Girls


Originally from the UK, Nathan came to the US July 2021 for a work placement with his school and began working for AYSO in Menlo Park. As of February 2022 Nathan joined Allstars United and has been working here for almost 2 years. Nathan’s roles at the club have been Director of 5/6U Grassroots program in addition to Directing the 2009, 2013 and 2014 age groups for girls in the competitive program.

Nathan’s passion for soccer has influenced him to pursue his career in the sport by obtaining a Masters Degree of Leadership in Sport. Additionally, alongside his degrees Nathan has been completing both European and US Coaching licenses to further his knowledge and experience.

He also has secured a role as the assistant coach to the Saratoga High School Girls Varsity Team for 2023/24 and is currently working towards completing his USSF C license.


Ary Afsari

Role - 11v11 Girls Director

From: Berkeley CA

Qualifications: USSF D, SFA 1.1, Certified Sports Medicine, Certified Personal Trainer, CPR/AED/First Aid

Teams: 2010 Girls, 2011 Girls & 2012 Girls


Now in remission from his cancer treatment and back to work, we are DELIGHTED to have coach KP back on the fields!

KP is our fitness guru and has numerous certificates in Nutrition and Physiology while also being fully certified in both Personal Training & Sports Medicine.

His energy and enthusiasm allows him to hold players to the highest standards while also making sure they feel safe & supported.

KP also coaches a number of girls teams allowing him to come into scenarios with different viewpoints that our boys only staff may not see.

Currently holding his US D license and working towards both his US C and UEFA C licenses with an aim of having both by the middle of 2022.

Every player, coach & family member can't wait to have KP back on the fields this year!
